How are particles filtered?
Particle filtering face masks provide protection against particles, but not gases or vapours. In general, the masks are entirely made up of multiple filter material layers. The different layers can be clearly seen in the image below. They fulfill a variety of functions, which include, stability, tear-resistance and filtering.
